William Bertram White



William Bertram White Was Born in 1821 in Frnace. He and Eliza Chitty Clendon Were Married. He Died in 1910, At Age ~89.~class: Cabin Need to Prove Occupation? the Son of A British Naval Officer, White Trained As A Surveyor Before Arriving in Wellington in the Early 40s. During the War Against Ngati Toa, White Led the Hutt Militia Forces to Capture A Protesting Te Raupararaha Near Porirua in 1846. Grey Then Posted White to the Taranaki-Wanganui Area Where He Served With Donald McLean in the Armed Police Force, Before Grey Posted White As A Sub-Inspector of Police to Mangonui in April 1848. White Arrived With A Police Sergeant and 7 Privates to Establish Law and Order in Muriwhenua, But He Quickly Became A General Agent of the Crown. in Late 1848, He Became A Resident Magistrate, and A Sub-Collector of Customs. in Addition, He Acted As A Surveyor For Pakeha Settlers, an Unofficial Land - Iii - Purchase Agent and A Personal Confidant of the Architect of Colonial Land Purchase Policy Between 1853 and 1865, Donald McLean. Pgjr. William Bertram White Had Person Sources. He Immigrated to Eng to Nz on the George Fyfe Arriving Nz 7/11/1842 on 16 June 1842 Esr Has Arrived Auckland 1846. He Was A Carpenter, Tasman St., Nelson in 1844. He Was A Police Sub Inspector and Collector of Customs Mangonui and Resident Magistrate. in 1848.
