Elizabeth Chitty was born in 1773 and christened on 13 Aug 1773 in Deal, Kent, England. She married George Clendon, an friend of her fathers, on 22 Jan 1795 in Deal, Kent, England.  George and Elizabeth had nine children that survived to adulthood.  Her children were only in the same room once, some time in 1815/16. By 1820 her children were scattered, Elizabeth was in Ireland, George was in London, James Reddy was in Calcutta, Thomas was in Bombay, Rebecca was in Yarmouth, England, Sarah Ann was in Walmer, England, John Chitty was in Dover, England and only Louisa and Mary Parson were still at home.
