Rev William Clendon
Rev. William Clendon is described in Cambridge University records as the son of the Master of Wellingborough School, was born about 1640 and was admitted as a sizar at Clare Hall, Cambridge, 01 Dec 1658. He matriculated 1659 as "Clendar" and migrated to Emmanuel College, 18 Jan 1650/60; B.A. 1662; M.A. 1666. he was licensed to preach at Sywell 1664/5.
He was Rector of Draughton, Northants, 19 Apr 1665 to 1670, vicar of Weekley 29 Nov 1670 to 1675, rector of Scaldwell 31 Mar 1675 to 1722. William died 04 Sep 1722 and was buried Sep 14 at Scaldwell. His wife, Mary, was buried 04 Sep 1704 at Scaldwell.
