He married Grace Colemore in 1628 at Sutton Coldfield in Warwickshire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CLENDON, THOMAS. <em>Adm. sizar at Emmanuel, 1620. Matric. Easter, 1620; B.A. 1623-4; M.A. 1627. Incorp. at Oxford, 1627. Sequestered to All Hallows, Barking, 1643. Doubtless R. of Radwinter, Essex, 1667-77. Died 1677.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He was Minister of Alhallows Barking in Tower St London where he encountered the wrath of a neighbour, Hester Shaw, who went so far as to publish a pamphlet entitled A Plain Account of my Suffereings&#8230;&#8221; denouncing his apparent comments in 1653. It is worth a look for an insight to the period!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"http:\/\/clendon.sargisonfamilyhistory.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/A-plaine-relation-of-my-sufferings-by-th.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pamphlet by Hester<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Reverend William Clendon<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Rev. William Clendon is described in Cambridge University records as the son of the Master of Wellingborough School, was born about 1640 and was admitted as a sizar at Clare Hall, Cambridge, 01 Dec 1658.&nbsp; He matriculated 1659 as \u201cClendar\u201d and migrated to Emmanuel College, 18 Jan 1650\/60; B.A. 1662; M.A. 1666.&nbsp; he was licensed to preach at Sywell 1664\/5. He was Rector of Draughton, Northants, 19 Apr 1665 to 1670, vicar of Weekley 29 Nov 1670 to 1675, rector of Scaldwell 31 Mar 1675 to 1722.&nbsp; William died 04 Sep 1722 and was buried Sep 14 at Scaldwell.&nbsp; His wife, Mary, was buried 04 Sep 1704 at Scaldwell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"http:\/\/clendon.sargisonfamilyhistory.com\/tng\/descend.php?personID=I142216347160&amp;tree=tree1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Rev William Clendon &amp; Mary ? He was listed as a chemist in 1826 at Ramsgate, Kent when he was appointed executor to a will made by Thomas Erridge, husband of his half-sister Susanna.
