For some reason Australia was not a favoured destination for this family

Captain James Reddy Clendon

He was in Sydney before 1826 when he married Sarah Isabella Hill on 2 October 1826. He has been covered under the NZ page as his major contribution was there.

Louisa Clendon (1813 -1879)

is also covered under NZ as they seemed to have arrived there around 1840 settling in the Bay of Islands where Joseph Dixon held an official position. Their son Louis Frederick Dixon (1844-1921) was born there. It has been suggested that they arrived via Australia which is possible but some time in the late 1840s they did go to Australia settling in Cumberland, NSW.

The following obituary published by the Daily Telegraph, 1 August 1908 for their son is interesting.

Robert Clendon (1886-1962) & Ann Maria Darby (1887-1971)

Ann was born in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England and died there. Robert was born in Handsworth, Staffordshire (became part of Warwickshire in 1911), England.
